We don't have the words so express how excited we are to have incredible Bristol muralist Farrah Fortnham supporting the campaign to protect our gorgeous Bristol Avon. Farrah's work has added colour and energy to Bristol's buildings and we in Bristol are are enraptured every time we see a new work of hers pop up.
Our recent preview screening at the stunning Bristol Aquarium's IMAX screen was a celebration both in creativity and solidarity for a cause so close our our hearts. The 250-person event brought together many creatives and campaigners. A blog and video about the event is on it's way!
During the screening's afterparty, Farrah, inspired by the love of the Avon expressed in the film, painted a portrait of the Avon which will now be our film's poster.
'Painting the beloved River Avon for this campaign has been so incredibly special for me. Ever since moving to Bristol, this river has held a soft spot in my heart. The tranquil waters have often soothed my inner turmoil. I've weathered a few storms, who hasn’t?! Yet I've also cherished countless joyful days walking along its banks with my children and friends, exploring places like the harbourside, Saltford, Hanham Lock and Oldbury Court.
Frequent visits to Conham River Park have been my refuge, a place to slow down and escape the chaos of the world for a few hours. Without it, I would feel both adrift and a bit lost. And now I have created a painting in honour of it. As much as the waters soothe, cleanse and calm me, I hope my painting will also do the same for you too'.- Farrah
You can buy a print of the artwork or the poster from our crowdfunder, proceeds from the sale will go to Farrah and towards funding the film's distribution campaign.
And now.... our wonderful new poster...we are elated!
